How many days do I need for a desert tour from Marrakech?
Two days are enough for the Zagora desert. For the Merzouga dunes of Erg Chebbi, plan at least 3 days, or 4 to 5 days for a more relaxed pace.
Is Merzouga or Zagora better from Marrakech?
Merzouga has the highest and most famous dunes in Morocco but needs more driving time. Zagora is closer to Marrakech and suits a short 2-day trip.
What will I see on the way from Marrakech to the desert?
Most routes cross the High Atlas via the Tizi n’Tichka pass and visit Aït Ben Haddou and Ouarzazate. Longer routes also pass through the Dades and Todra gorges.
